As it starts to get cooler here in Qld it's a great time for me or anyone with issues with heat to get outside. I've got Dysautonomia, and a broken immune system so heat or temp changes can cause me annaphylaxis, or to fit. Autumn is absolutely ideal for me and I think its really important to factor weather in to your adventures if you can. I also pack extra water, salt tablets, snacks, blanket, poncho, mini fan, and cooling towel. It really does pay to be prepared - and being prepared also gives me more confidence to actually get out in the first place.

The IndisgiScapes centre is an initiative of Redlands Council and includes Botanic Gardens, parkland, an environment centre and Restaurant. There is a car park with free parking and 4 wide disabled spots.

The main entrance path to the centre is a steep downhill!! I love downhills but I can't often make it back up them solo. I was very lucky to have my social support nurse from Blue Care with me for the first time. After 9mths waiting for QCSS I got set up a few weeks ago with Blue Care (local nursing service) so will have 3hrs of adventures every Wednesday moving forward. After 4months inside the house I've decided to try to get out and about more for my mental health. It's super scary and hard at first but having a support worker really helps.

There are literally kilometres of pathways, but most of the actual walks are not wheelchair friendly as are not sealed or super steep. There are a lot of flat, paved areas as well so once I had assistance getting in, I was able to explore and did feel like I kind of went on a bush walk.

Despite it being school holidays it was not busy or crowded at all.

I could not see where there where accessible toilets but it is marked on the map on their website.

Although I definitely wouldn't tackle this place solo, it's a great spot to go with a friend and maybe take a picnic. There are heaps of different spots you could set it up.

There is also a small nursery where you can purchase native plants.
